Service

Volvo Brakes & Suspension Repair in London

We replace Volvo brake pads and discs, calipers, wheel bearings, control arms and suspension bushes using genuine or OEM parts — including the correct pad-wear sensors — and we bleed DSC and align the car after suspension work.

Brakes & Suspension
Price: Brake pads from £189 per axle (OEM). Typical time: 2–4 hours

Good brakes are not optional. On a Volvo they also need the right pad compound, the right wear sensor, and a DSC bleed so the warning light actually goes out.

Pads, discs and sensors

We fit OEM or genuine Volvo pads and discs, replace the correct pad-wear sensor for your axle, and reset the wear indicator on VIDA so the light actually goes out.

DSC and brake fluid

Volvo Dynamic Stability Control needs a proper bleed after caliper or hose work, and brake fluid should be changed on the inspection interval (typically every two years).

Suspension

Lower control arms, anti-roll bar links, bushes, top mounts — we replace only what is worn, and we align the car afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

  • My Volvo says "Brake pads worn". Do I have time to drive?

Yes — the sensor warns before pads are dangerous. But book in within the next week. Running past that point risks scoring the discs, which turns a £189 job into a £500+ job.

  • How often should Volvo brake fluid be changed?

Every 2 years, as part of the scheduled inspection. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and old fluid boils under hard braking, which is exactly when you need it to work.

  • Does my Volvo need an SBC brake service?

No. Volvo has no SBC. Volvo uses DSC (Dynamic Stability Control). Brake fluid should still be changed about every two years, and any DSC work needs a proper bleed on VIDA so the warning light clears.
