Regas done properly

We vacuum the system to confirm it holds, pressure-test with nitrogen, then regas with the correct weight of refrigerant and compressor oil. Every step is measured.

A seized compressor usually contaminates the whole system — compressor plus receiver-drier plus expansion valve plus flush, or the new compressor will fail again inside six months.

Frequently asked questions

  • How often does Volvo air conditioning need a regas?

    Modern AC systems lose around 5% refrigerant a year through normal permeation. Every 3-4 years is typical. If your AC has stopped cooling suddenly, that is a leak, not gradual loss — we will find and fix it first.

  • What is the difference between R1234yf and R134a refrigerant?

    R1234yf is the modern, lower-GWP refrigerant fitted to most Volvos from the mid-2010s onwards. R134a is used on older cars. They are not interchangeable — we have both.

  • Why does my Volvo AC smell musty?

    Usually a blocked cabin filter and bacterial growth on the evaporator. A new pollen filter and an evaporator clean fixes it in an hour.
